HIP-HOP POINTS-OF-VIEW GUIDELINES
The goal of Hip-Hop Points-of-View is to catalog varying and oftentimes opposing points-of-view on Hip-Hop as well as a broad range of other topics from those who represent Hip-Hop Culture's past and present, so as to provide present and future generations with a balanced perspective on the complexities, struggles and evolution of Hip-Hop mentality throughout history. In order to submit an entry into our Hip-Hop Encyclopedia, you must be or represent at least one of the following:
- A dedicated individual willing to volunteer his/her time to collect the essays, statements, editorials, commentaries, and/or published opinions of Hip-Hop's most inspiring, influential and controversial personalities, intellectuals, philosophers and activists from around the world via their respective official websites and/or other legitimate sources
- A representative of one or more of Hip-Hop's 5 Elements (an Emcee, Deejay, Graffiti Artist, Breakdancer or Beatboxer) who has published either online or offline your educated, inspiring, insightful and/or controversial essays, statements, editorials, commentaries, and/or opinions about any aspect of Hip-Hop or other non Hip-Hop related topics that you believe may be of interest to the global Hip-Hop community
- A legitimate Hip-Hop Historian, Academic or a credentialed College Professor in Hip-Hop Studies
- A writer, journalist, essayist, or blogger who has written about his/her perspectives on Hip-Hop or other aspects of life as seen through the eyes of Hip-Hop
- A high school or college student who wishes to contribute his/her well-written school reports on Hip-Hop or other aspects of life as seen through the eyes of Hip-Hop
If you are simply a Hip-Hop head volunteering to collect entries for our database, you are required to provide us with your valid source(s). All other qualified persons and/or groups must provide a valid reference source (i.e.., link to their official website).
New contributors will be provided a unique contributor identification number. Returning contributors are recommended to provide this contributor number when submitting new entries so as to record the number of unique valid entries they have submitted for review and approval.
Contributors are encouraged to submit Hip-Hop Points-of-View pertaining to a particular individual, organization or group from as many unique and legitimate sources as possible. The more content added within each entry, the more comprehensive our database will be.
Contributors may add new Points-of-View to pre-existing Entries. You are required to provide us with your valid sources for approval into our database.
Contributors may also submit the author's biography to be added to the Hip-Hop Encyclopedia as a compliment to his/her submitted Point(s)-of-View. Biographical entries are subject to careful review by our submissions staff. For more information, please read our Hip-Hop Encyclopedia Submission Guidelines.
Active ICU members who participate in collecting database entries for Ill Crew University will have their biographies approved and added to the Hip-Hop Encyclopedia as a Hip-Hop Culture Preservationist.
Non-ICU members who have submitted 10 or more unique entries into our database will have their biographies approved and added to the Hip-Hop Encyclopedia as a Hip-Hop Culture Preservationist. Ill Crew University uses your contributor identification number to authenticate the number of unique entries you have submitted for review.
If English is not your first language, we still encourage you to submit your entry in YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE. This enables our readers to better realize the scope of Hip-Hop's global reach through an openly multilingual database.
Contributors are encouraged to properly translate pre-existing Point-of-View entries into their native language and submit the translated entries for review and approval into our database.
If you notice that a particular Hip-Hop personality's Point(s)-of-View hasn't yet been added to our database, please do not hesitate to take it upon yourself to submit their valid Point-of-View entry for our staff to review. Your proactive participation is vital to preserving the integrity of Hip-Hop culture for generations to come.
Ill Crew University reserves the right to edit and/or omit portions of submitted entries ONLY IF these portions are deemed by our submissions staff as unconducive to the quality, comprehensiveness, validity and integrity of the Hip-Hop Points-of-View Archive. Otherwise, submitted entries will be added to our database and published on our website AS IS in accordance to preserving a balanced variety of global Hip-Hop Points-of-View.
