ACEYALONE
aka: Hayes, Eddie

(??? - Present)

Project Blowed Biography:

Aceyalone is arguably the most articulate and creative emcee from the West Coast of the United States. Aceyalone was a founding member of Freestyle Fellowship, a group of artists that gracefully and intelligently departed from the common styles and practices of West Coast rap music.

The reputation of Aceyalone has steadily grown since the world first him rapping back in the day with his legendary group, Freestyle Fellowship. Freestyle Fellowship to this day is considered to be one of Hip-Hop's most influential groups and their first 2 albums, To Whom it May Concern and Inner city Griots are classic records from Hip-Hop's Golden Era. In 1994, Aceyalone stepped outside of his group and began work on his 1st solo LP, All Balls Dont Bounce. This record was released on Capitol Records in 1995 and was embraced and revered by fans and critics alike. This album was re-issued with new artwork and a bonus CD featuring unreleased music and video from the original album. All Balls Dont Bounce showed Aceyalones diverse rhyme abilities and incredible wordplay and featured the classic cuts, "Makeba" and "Mic Check." After parting ways with Capitol records, Aceyalone embarked on his career as an independent artist and formed his own label, Project Blowed Recordings. With full control over his music, Aceyalone went back into the studio to begin work on what is now considered to be his most conceptual and thought provoking LP, The Book of Human Language. When released, this album became an instant classic and confirmed Aceyalone as one of Hip-Hop's most creative and intelligent artists.

After the success of this past album, Aceyalone went back into the studio to being work on some colloborative LPs and a few more solo projects. Between 1998 to 2002, Aceyalone worked on many projects; including the collaborative LP with Abstract Rude, entitled The A-Team, another solo record Accepted Ecclectic and a compilation from his label Project Blowed. During this time, Aceyalone also toured the world in support of his records and worked with other major groups like: Linkin Park and Dilated Peoples.

In 2002, Aceyalone partnered his label with New York company, Decon, and begun work on the solo album Love and Hate. Always a strong MC, Acey enlisted similarly cut producers for this new record. Hard-hitting producers from the Def Jux Camp (El-P and RJD2) play beat coordinators on tracks along with staple Project Blowed producer, Fat Jack. Lyrical contributions include; Goapele, El-P, Priest and Sayyid of Anti-Pop Consortium, Casual, Abstract Rude, The Soul of John Black as well as many others.

With the success of Love and Hate, Aceyalone decided it was time to once again shine the spotlight on his Project Blowed brethren and he and his crew went back into the studio to record Project Blowed Presents and the Good Brothers. This record is a dope collection of the West Coasts finest MCs and producers and features the hot single "Give It Here" featuring Aceyalone, Ahmed and Pep Love. With this record, Aceyalone once again proves few crews can match the lyrical diversity of his camp.

"I watch 'em all walk into the flames when they could walk into the vastness of their brains."
